Robbie, MGO and Nerd Fellowship

3 Mar 2009 In: PS3, Trailer, Video Games

It’s been a long time since my last post. I haven’t read most of the post on blogs in my Google Reader/Blogroll. School work’s been taking up most of my time and when I finally got a week-long break last week, my body decided to crash and I spent most of it at home with a cough and a slight fever.

Boo.

Anyway, before the break started, I was invited to write at Nerd Fellowship. I decided to give it a try and wrote my first post on the new video/trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Scene Expansion. I can’t wait for the new maps and gear! Hopefully the outfit near the end does have the same effect as the Magazine. Haha! I bet it’s just for fun though.

Obviously, that was my favorite part of the vid. Adding to that is the Robbie mascot head. It took me a few seconds to realize why the bunny head looked familiar. I suppose it’s a Konami thing. Hehe! Here’s hoping for more cameos/references!

I can’t wait for the game to be released in North America. I will of course be getting the PS3 version of the game. Hopefully the demo will be available here too and not just in Japan  . In the meantime, I’ll be drooling over the new trailer:

This is one of the first figures on my get list. However, it was out of stock everywhere when I decided to start collecting figures. I was really glad when it was announced that it will be available sometime near the end of this year. I ordered it from KidNemo and it arrived on December 19. Here’s my review.

Haven’t played either games in a while, since I’m currently spending all my spare time on Eternal Sonata. If When this comes out on PSN or wherever, I am definitely getting it. Solid Snake Sackboy is adorable!

konata watching anime

I discovered anime on TV. I used to record onto VHS too.

Yes, I know that The Land Before Time isn’t an anime. Bear with me.

I’ve been itching lately for a JRPG. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was not doing the trick so I temporarily resorted to older games such as one of my all-time favorite RPGs, Xenogears. Then I saw Eternal Sonata on an EB Games store’s shelf. My first thought was “yay! A JRPG for the PS3!”. But after looking closer, I initially that it was too cutesy and wondered if it was worth the $59.99 pricetag. Honestly, it looked to me back then like it should have been a Wii game instead of a PS3 game.

But I wanted a JRPG. So I gave in and handed my debit card over to the cashier.

I didn’t regret it.

Rogue by Shunya Yamashita

I used to watch X-Men everyday when it used to air on tv back in the Philippines. I tried watching the new series too but I liked the 90’s version better. Rogue was one of my favorite characters. When I saw this on the front page of Kid Nemo (which also happens to be the source of the image) my first reaction was “must get!” Then I thought about my wallet.

I requested a refund a couple of days ago for my pre-order of Shunya’s other figure Non-Non. I wanted it, but when I sat down and thought about it, I didn’t want it bad enough. My hobbies are expensive so I realy have to budget. PS3 games are released every so often, and soon the keyboard attachment will be available. Anime takes up a lot of space on my computer so hard drives are necessary (dad bought them for me though ^_^v). Mangas are cheap compared to the others but come out more often and more regularly.

So, sorry Rogue, but I won’t be buying you.

I’ve been collecting a lot of “memes” lately in my favorites section in Deviantart. My grasp of the meaning of meme is loose, so I searched for the definition using Google and settled on the one in Wikipedia:

… comprises any idea or behavior that can pass from one person to another by learning or imitation. Examples include thoughts, ideas, theories, gestures, practices, fashions, habits, songs, and dances. Memes propagate themselves and can move through the cultural sociosphere in a manner similar to the contagious behavior of a virus.

I think that calling the questionnaires a meme is a misnomer. What could possibly be considered a meme is the whole… phenomenon? of the spreading of these questionnaires and how a new one seems to pop up every once in a while, to be answered and spread again.

Anyway, that’s just my thoughts. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. The actual point of this post though is that I answered one. Hehe ^^

Click here for the image. Don’t take my answers seriously. It’s all for fun ^_^

Ignis arrived a month ago but I only had a photo shoot with her two weeks ago, then uploaded the pics on the computer the other day, then onto Flickr today.

Ayame Maxwell

Ayame Maxwell

I’ve been marathon-ing (watching all the eps back-to-back) Gundam Wing the past few weeks with my boyfriend and friend. It took me back to my late elementary/early high school years and I suddenly remembered my first full character. By full, I mean, I probably created a number of random characters as a child, but Ayame was the only one with a personality, a background, a story. She was, is and always will be special to me.

Ayame was “born” sometime in 1999 or 2000 when I started playing the table top RPG Legend of the Five Rings. I was not, and still am not, good at creating stories and background information so I decided that Ayame had no memories. For her clan, I chose the Dragon and the name Mirumoto.
